A trio sounds like a great idea, and there's only one piece of advice I can give you, which is that if you three are supposed to be in a trio, it will just happen 'naturally.' I know, that might sound silly but it's true, it isn't the sort of thing that should be organised as a fake friendship. It will just happen if it's supposed to :)
