Separated, 3 kids, no support yet, and he stopped paying the bills...?

My husband and I separated after he told me to leave (that's putting it nicely). I took our 3 children, and moved home. He promised to pay the bills that were in both our names, since he isn't even paying child support and I just started working. Now I find out that he stopped paying the bills, my credit is shot, and his inadequacy caused my car to be repoed. He claims he paid the bills, but I talked to the leinholder and know for a fact he didn't. Now what? He keeps telling me to trust him, but I haven't been able to trust him for even the small stuff for years.
