Could my neutered male cats be in heat?

i have two male cats. aleekat is 4 and gemini is 3. tey were both neutered at 6 months. well...every year around this time they sit and cry by the door and run out the door everytime you open it. but then it will stop closer to winter. and it doesnt happen in the summer. they just go for a few months like this. ???? i am confused! could they be in heat? aleekat has also started "having his way" with my pillows on my couch....
