What is the name of a book I read some forty years ago.?

A girl was on a ship which was captured by Ottomans and given to the Sultan of Turkey. I think she was a cousin to Empress Josephine Bonapart. She was never able to escape captivity, but came in time to love the Sultan, by whom she had a son, who became the Sultan after his father's death.
