Can a person recover from schizophrenia and sever depression?or is it just treatable,if so how?

I personally don't know the answer to this but I have a couple of suggestions that may alleviate symptoms: A portable cd player with a meditation/relaxation/anxiety cd. Walking or riding a bike.
