Banking (...with a B...)?

All banks do credit transfers, so go to your nearest bank and fill out the correct form and hand over your cheque. If it is to another branch of the same bank (might apply to Halifax in this case) there isn't usually a fee, but to a different bank, there could be. Or mail the cheque direct to your own branch. They will put it in the account for you.
